Learn About Tea
Every leaf has a story

Black Tea
Bold and comforting
Fully oxidised leaves give black tea its deep colour and robust flavour. Think Assam, Ceylon, English Breakfast and Earl Grey.
Green Tea
Fresh and grassy
Unoxidised and gently handled, green tea keeps the leaf's natural freshness. Delicate, bright and quietly complex.
White Tea
Soft and subtle
The least processed of all teas. Young buds and leaves are simply withered and dried, giving a light, honeyed cup.
Oolong
Somewhere in between
Partially oxidised, oolong sits between green and black. Floral, creamy or roasted depending on the craft of the maker.
Matcha
The whole leaf, whisked
Stone-ground Japanese green tea powder. You drink the entire leaf, whisked into a vivid, velvety bowl.
Chai
Spiced and warming
Black tea brewed with warming spices like cardamom, cinnamon, ginger and clove. Wonderful with milk and a little honey.
Herbal Tea
Naturally caffeine-free
Technically tisanes rather than tea. Chamomile, peppermint, lemongrass and more, blended for flavour and wellbeing.
Rooibos
South African red bush
A naturally sweet, caffeine-free infusion from the Cederberg mountains. Smooth, earthy and lovely at any hour.
Brew a Better Cup
Small changes can make a big difference.
Water Temperature
Boiling water scorches green tea. Most leaves have a sweet spot, and a few degrees can change everything.
Amount of Tea
A generous teaspoon per cup is a good start, but leaf shape matters more than you'd think.
Brewing Time
Thirty seconds too long can turn a beautiful cup bitter. Here's how to time each style.
Tea Storage
Light, air, heat and moisture are tea's four enemies. Keep your leaves happy and they'll repay you.
